Another one taken on a photo shoot on September 15th, 2018 along the west coast of the peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands.
In order to enhance the exuded mood, this time I've chosen for a shutter opening time of 1/4000'. Inherent to it the aperture was only 3.7 (with the result of a somewhat lesser DOF too), but the achieved effect had my preference. FL 18mm.

That's a lot of footprints...I too like the darker tones here and great angle and composition.

As for me, I would rather see scenes like this pristine, right after the tide has gone back out and the retreating waves have left their own unique footprints in the sand. I guess I am just a purist in that way. Love the waves and surf, though.
