I've some doubts whether this should be a Manic Monday (Mē) contribution or not.

This image was taken at a folklore event (inclusive a gig ride and a tilting at the ring event), in Middelburg, Zeeland, The Netherlands, held this year on July, 11th.

It's a common use that the farmers, and their wives/partners don't only decorate the gig with foofs, but the horses as well (please check-out this link to see how this is done).

That looks like lot of work which most hairdressers will refuse. Very nice decoration and also good one for m. Monday.

It's amazing the horse "stood still," for all this braiding SEA.
It looks great and the patterns are amazing.
Wonderful presentation.

I have really liked horses, have enjoyed visiting with them, since my brother rode his horse into and through town from a re-enactment site in a local military state park, about 58 years ago... by the time he reached our house, a couple miles through town, he had a parade of kids behind him. The only time these kids would have seen horses on the city streets was likely the July 4th parades. This one, C., is my single favorite for the day, and a copy is going into my wallpapers folder, so dank je. I will be sure to pass this along to a horsewoman friend who has tried something similar on her quarter horse, albeit not quite this complicated. Definitely a keeper.

Happy Trails
