This night-shot was taken on December 7th, 2019 in Amsterdam, the capital of my small country (The Netherlands) on the occasion of the light festival, edition # 8 there (version 2019/2020 with the central theme 'Disrupt!').

There are 20 artworks shown on this festival. This one, called 'Order/Disorder' was created by the Dutch artist Lambert Kamps.

Information/description provided by the festival committee: are they Jupiter's planetary rings or electrons spinning around an atom? The rings of Order/Disorder are in continuous motion: one moment they form circles in an ordered pattern, the next they intersect in a disorderly way. Order and chaos follow each other again and again.

Mr C, I definitely am a fan of Lambert Kamps. This piece, as the rings rotate, give moments of chaotic appearances, and with its continual movement, occasional moments of order. I would love to visit this festival and see all 20 artworks in person.

The rotating rings must definitely add to the Christmas Atmosphere there.

Reminds me of the old fluorescent tubes SEA. It was definitely disorder when I was ordered to change one. Did you know they shatter easily when dropped? 😁
I too would love to visit this festival. Thanks for taking us there with you.

It does remind me of an illustration of an atom. There is order in atoms but if they are disrupted all chaos will break loose. Very nice capture of a low light shot. It would be lovely to see all lit up. Good one Cornelius.
