This night-shot was taken on December 7th, 2019 in Amsterdam, the capital of my small country (The Netherlands) on the occasion of the light festival, edition # 8 there (version 2019/2020 with the central theme 'Disrupt!').

There are 20 artworks shown on this festival. This one, called 'The Ice Is Melting At The P0ules' was created by the Danish artist Martin Ersted.

Information/description provided by the festival committee: The new and sometimes beautiful graphs created to display climate change data were the inspiration for Ersted's projection on The National Maritime Museum. By combining hard, scientific facts ans intense laser lights, Ersted generates a performance that is simultaneously confronting and poetic.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT) said in his comment on THIS ONE: "I like the lighting SEA, but I don't really understand 'The Ice Is Melting' theme. Unless it is the light on the building."

I realized that a static image isn't helpful in showing the dynamic lighting performance. So I've provided you with another image of this ''The Ice Is Melting At The P0ules' theme in order to give a better impression of it.

Those six barriers in front of this lovely building, are they for defensive purposes, maybe to prevent a boat accidentally hitting the building?

Hello John,
when you check-out this link you'll find some information about this building.
You can read too that some construction errors during the laying of the foundation plus the weight of the building and the peat soil of Amsterdam combined in a hazardous situation. To stop this from happening, buttresses were added in the first half of the eighteenth century to the base of the building.

You can still see these buttresses in my picture.

Hope that this is the answer of the by you forwarded question.

Best regards, Cornelius aka SEA, ⚓

This shows the theme much better in my estimation SEA. Thanks for posting it. I can be a "dummy" at times; or perhaps all the time.
The lighting and the reflections are beautiful.
Kudos to you on this beauty.
