Carol, this photo of so-called pompom dahlias was taken in one of the gardens of a dahlia grower. Dahlias are tuberous plants that the grower plants in rows. It is possible that one tuber can develops several flowers. It may also be the flowers of consecutive tubers or a combination of these options.
