John (casechaser) said in his comment on THIS ONE: "And, following your link I found a picture of a table and chairs, with a stand-up pole lamp, on the side of a building that was very unique. Maybe you got a shot of it for Wacky Wednesday?"
My reply was: "John, a good idea. I photographed the scene with furniture on a side wall of the building. I'll have to see if it will be a suitable contribution for Wacky Wednesday (W²) in due course."
So here it is. From a photographic point of view, not a scene that excels in beauty, but one that makes the viewer wonder what the essence of this contemporary artwork is. Anyway: 'Take a seat' only applies here to people who aren't subject to the laws of gravity, 😁 .
This artwork is created by Erwin Wurm. Erwin is an Austrian artist who became world-famous for his sculptures about the absurd and the paradox in our society. He created it for the occasion of Façade 2022. It has no name. It consists of second-hand furniture like a chair, a table, and so on, attached to a wall of an old building situated on a square in Middelburg, Zeeland, The Netherlands.
Erwin says: "We bring the furniture outside. This type of work is a reaction to the weighty art of the '60s and '70s that I was raised with. What is the source of our existence, what is our destination; very weighty, pathetic works that make the viewer smaller. I do exactly the opposite and make myself smaller. By bringing furniture outside, you, being an artist make yourself vulnerable."
Mr C, great post for Wacky Wednesday.
