This sculpture is created by Patrick Visser, born on July 24th, 1980 in Zoeterwoude, The Netherlands.

Patrick is a Dutch sculptor within the junk art movement.

He's self-taught in terms of art. Patrick has been collecting old metals since 2009, which he finds on the street or elsewhere. He makes relatively large sculptures of animals from these superfluous remnants. He compares his work to sculpting clay that's in itself of no value into a sculpture. His animal sculptures then found their way to several locations in Holland. This one can be seen downtown Amsterdam.

There is wonderful detail in this work. It reminds me a little of some of our local steam punk sculptures.A fine capture Cornelius, I almost expect it to leap through my screen !~

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Extremely creative and talented - it does remind me of steampunk - I've been staring at it to see all the little metal parts in it!

Creativity at its best, unique and intriguing in focusing on the overall concept that gives us something to admire.
