No question that the site page image should never be viewed/judged at that size/compression The quality is poor. However, I view at full screen, and I'm guessing your Cranberry Bog was a deeper Cranberry. I added a small color boost and 1 click of negative gamma. The background was practically unaffected, but the foreground road and bog appear much more natural. It's a beautiful setting, though looks more alive with the bog a deeper cranberry tone.
I hear about these bogs in Wisconsin, but have never seen one, its an interesting shot. Are those the berries floating on top or is that the plant? It does seem that the photo could be brighter, although it just might be the color of the berries that is tricking us. It is a good shot though.
---Maybe it is just me, but it seems that my images lose color on the upload to Caedes.net. I wonder if anyone else experiences this---
I'm not dealing with this color problem Cindy. My images however show a loss of quality after uploading to Caedes, because they are uploaded in PNG format, but by Caedes are displayed in the JP(E)G format. I have checked-out the by Tick given link, and see some color enhacement.
Your image is a nice one though. Thanks for your link to very interesting information. Had no idea that the cranberries are harvested that way.

I'm not sure about that question, I have not noticed that on my end, I did see a big difference in the link that Tick gave. I have never seen this type of scene before, good job. =^..^=tigs
There is a difference in colour between Photofiltre Studio and Photoshop. Photfiltre is "more colourful". I just checked my upload and it looks okay Cindy. There is an adjustment for color settings on photoshop under Edit - color settings - Monitor RGB. I use that option since it adjusts colours to suit my monitor. Nice shot of the Cranberry bog.
I've noticed a drop in clarity in my posts as well. They look real sharp here on my monitor and then just slightly less focus when I view them after uploading. A cool shot anyway Cindy:)
Nice shot, Cindy. I do see there is a big difference with the link Tick's provided. I agree with Doug , I think we all lose some color and shaprness anytime a photo is loaded . Not sure that this is unique to Caedes. Sometimes mine do load darker. I like the shot !
I generally discovered the same thing long time ago and started to post here the images which are: 1) oversaturated 2) too dark and/or too light depending on the case 3) far too sharp etc. Nothing helps much in my case as I am but an amateur. But our SOT's advice and suggestion seems to work beautifully for you who are the master anyway, dear SALEE. SAM & SAAB [who both knew how to grow cranberries LOL]
It may be an Illusion... due to the Surrounding Landscape which Drew my Eye! That's an Incredible stone Wall... looks like a Nice spread! To this Day, I have as Yet to Visit one of These and See it in Person... But, someday, I'll rectify that!
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
I canīt say I have noticed any loss in color but I have noticed my images sometimes look much darker and also loses sharpness. That is not happening every time though. I like your image very much. It is interesting and very well taken.
I have experienced the same thing but I look at it as a loss of brightness so sometimes I put it in PS and increase the exposure on it because it looked too dark on the first upload. ????
Never knew Cranberry was like this!...good post
