thankyou, i think what did it was instead of using curves to add the right contrasts to this one, i simply used the USM at a radius of 20-40 or something, on a duplicated layer set to soft light. also, i changed the color ballance properly. thankyou
I really liked the original shot of Elk Pass, but this panoramic version adds so much to it. The colors are quite beautiful and the framing is a really nice touch. :)
BEAUTIFUL... great shot.. i too liked the original .. but this one is much better being panoramic... great frame work it just gives it that little bit extra.... love it..
I didnt see the original, but I love this one. And I too think the border actually makes it look more elegant..that it brings out the width of the whole scene. The depth is great, the dark colour you captured above the mountains...and then the smoothe snow...WOW!! I wonder where YOU were at this point..and by the way? where is Elk Point? Bravo for this photo!!
umm, me i'd wandered about another 5 feet off the path from where other people had gone to take pictures ;) elk pass in in peterlougheed park, in kananaskis, alberta, canada. thanks
This is a much more satisfying image, not only in the overall composition, but also in your tweaking of light and saturation. The frame resonates the subject well without being obtrusive. Kudos!
Super shot! I really think the border top/bottom with the soft inset of the mountains adds a lot of depth to it. Looks like a dark image overlay or something. Very nice touch! I haven't seen powder to the tops of the pines since skiing Jackson Hole in the 70's. Love the shot, give it a 10 because of the content, clarity, and that cool border. ~Ouimon~
