halfway through our 310km 11 day canoe trip i stayed up one night and took some northern lights pictures. i saw some way better ones on the drive up, but didnt get any pictures cuz the foreground always sucked in the campground where we were and i was tired. i think the clouds make this shot more interesting than a clear sky, what do you think?

Hey, its good to see that you are back. You know i expect you to post a picture a day for a good month or so to fully show all of the pictures you must have taken on your trip. This one is pretty sweet. I wish we could see them like this in calgary all the time. That would be awesome.

i have never seen them from calgary, i think we're not at a high enough lattitude, also city lights make it so that you dont notice them, if there is a little bit that you'd actually see in the wilderness

You can see them frequently in Edmonton evn with the city lights. We never see them probably for the smae reason...the latitude.

Such wonderment we have in the skies . I have seen this only once in my life, and I never forgot it. You are fortunate to live where you can see it. We could see this in ORegon but usually we have too much of a gray cloud cover during the nights...I love this green. ITs so fantastic. You just know HOW to take pics dontcha?! bravo for sure!!!

Wow, I wish I was there. The green lights are stunning, and very surrealistic. It looks like the light is shining through the clouds. The silhouettes are beautiful also. Gorgeous shot!
