Well my mouth dropped down as soon I saw the thumb. And the pic is just superb. Ur new lens works just good. The image looks a bit unbalanced. Was that on purpose ?
unballanced as in the centreof interest is laterally smack dab in the middle of the picture, the horrizon right in the middle vertically, and hardly any lines run nicely from 1/3rd corner to a corresponding 1/3rd? then youd be very right its unballanced, and i wish i would have had it for the breaking the rules contest.
i framed this in the dark, unfortunately this is an f/4 lens, so there wasnt much to see in the viewfinder, and i havent really gotten used to the lens enough that i can just set it up and know what will happen without looking.
im surprised personally how much i like this shot despite all its faults
I must say this is a great example of a not so great place looking really great. If i had a dollar for everytime i walked past there not thinking much of that cliff, i would, well almost have enough for that lens of yours:P. Definitly looking forward to seeing some more from this new glass in the future. (and stealing it permentantly)
This is what I call a well-equipped photographer. He can shoot an interesting photo of each perhaps not that much interesting place.... The effects are stunning. Still much to learn from you Carl, lol.
This picture is simply stunning. Crystal clear and centre/offcentre perfect... Fantastic sky. Beautiful stream in the foreground. You have a great eye & have captured this scene beautifully. What a wonderful picture.
Ahhhhh you and your long exposures! I LOVE them! That new lens looks nice and wide indeed, and it really helped this shot. I love all the detail you caught, from the river on the left to the stream coming across the front, and the steps going up, and the trees, etc. I really like the colors you get with such a long exposure too. I'll have to try it sometime :)
Yeah...that's a....that's....wow. Three and a half minutes. Whoo. Wish my little digital could do bulb. Excellent capture. I would have never guessed that it was a nighttime shot :)
Well, I'm learning a lot about what criteria makes a good photo from reading the rest of ya all's commentary. So this photo has some faults? Well, for whatever reaspn, the thunbnail caught my eye right away and my poor little ole untrained eye liked the full view even better. And this was shot at night? You gotta be kidding.Well, I like it, faults and all. So, that's that.
Love the shot. I don't make a lot of comments on this sight, but I had to comment about this one. I've always loved time lapse shots. Unfortunately my Sony DSC-H5 has only a 30sec max exposure :-(
10/10 for turning night into day!
