Taken down by the springs just by my house. there is a lot of calcium and iron thats get deposited where the spring come out giving the rock a very 'red' look. I got my shoes very wet and dirty taking this one, oh, and those are ducks there in the water, they're kinda blurry cuz this was >1sec exposure because it was getting dark and i needed f/22 for the depth of field so it is sharp at 1 foot and infinity

Very nice Carl. The strong diagonal lines, the running water and the rest of the composition is very good. The only thing that could have made this a stronger image is to have had the little stream end in the river. As it is now it starts by leading the eye into the image and then takes it right back out again.

I agree with Michael...it would have been good to have the stream go into the water...and also, this stream appears more like fog than water...I'm one of those people that sets my camera on "fast moving" things...and then the water looks more like running water. But that doesnt mean this isnt pretty, because it is very beautiful. The colours are so great and I like the way you have the curve in the water(on the snow side), and then the sunset...wow..You have a very nice photo here Carl..very nice............verena

i'm afraid your camera lied to you, the background is not as sharp as the stones in the front;) anyway, don't take it as a complaint, cause i like nearly everything about this shot, great composition (well, maybe the horizon line is slightly tilted, but who cares;) and colors.

I like the varying textures created in the picture. I agree that the stream's direction doesn't pull you into the picture, even though it is a dominate element. The river helps make up for it, but it is off to the side. A level horizon would also be an improvement. Overall, I really like the picture.

I love the lighting and colours here. i agree, i think a lower composition, to include the stream entering the river would be good...
