We were pretty stupid traversing under that cornice, it could have been a pretty big avalanche, but it wasnt, so we'll do it again :P I was pretty bold stopping underneath the bulk of it to take a picture, but i'd probably do that again too

Great shot Carl. I like how all the lines lead your eye right to the front 2 skiers.

Yes you must have been very stupid Carl. But othwerwise we wouldn't be able to admire this beautiful shot. I love the lighting and the sillhouette of the snow.

Another well designed shot. The figures in this add interest to the photo, too.

Great picture! Thank you for your "stupidity!" This has the feel of one of those old National Geographic expedition photos. Thanks.

Carl I don't know how to talk about all your snow photos. they're just breath-taking. When I saw your latest, "Ptarmigan" I went back through your shots, and my friend this is good. The interplay between light and dark is beautiful, and speaking of light the light is gorgeous - clear and rich making all your colors so much more naturally contrasty.

This is a really hard shot to expose properly, and you nailed it. You must have manipulated your camera's light meter quite a bit. The only thing I think would benefit the photo is a little more something in the foreground. Maybe if you took it a few seconds earlier, so your friend was closer to the camera. I like it.
