This was a very unusual winter on the Bow River in Calgary. The ice formed solid on 3/4 of the river ALL on ONE side, leaving the other exposed to erosion, which usually never happens in the winter. it ended up undercutting about 10 feet of bank that was origionally 7' high. the tree you see sitting in the water was at the hight of the fence 1 month ago. Note the Deer-Fence still on the vertical tree ;)

Hello Carl...I am wondering how long it took you to take this perfect of a photo. I mean each single detail is just aweinspiring. The way the little branch touches against the cloud..on the left...and the way you made sure to place that little tree just right...so my eye starts with that...goes to the sky...then down the wonderful river and to the right side of the photo to the touches of pink and the shadow..wow..a most intrigueing photo my friend !! I could sit here and ponder on it a long time. I've saved it that's for sure, I will love using it and searching each little thing in that picture for a long time to come. And to top it all off, the colours are just magnificient too!!! Thank you so very much..Your photography is just incredible!!..verena

Be it a wide shot, or multiple shots merged... it REALLY works well with a simulation of the pushed feeling you get when wind tries to knock you over... makes you feel like you've experienced, in part at least, what the land has felt... excellent job!

Yep. I can feel that force, due to your very good composition with the oblique lines. Excellent title for a strong wallpaper :-)

A nice pic. Amazing how it undercut that bank so fast. We had a major flood at Mt.Rainier the end of fall. They said there were boulders coming down the rivers the size of Volkswagens. Should be interesting come spring to see how things changed.
