But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile.
Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.
This castle looks like it came from a fairy tale, an impression that is enhanced by your very appropriate edge treatment. It’s one of the best images I have seen of this wonderful castle.
Ludwig's house! I love this castle and this is one of the prettiest shots I've seen of it. They call him mad but he really left something for the ages with this. I too, likie the edge it makes it look like a castle in the clouds.
Thank you everyone for your comments. This has always been one of my favorite castles since boyhood and I have been very lucky to visit it. The surrounding Bavarian Alps, which don't show up in this view, are every bit as spectacular as the Castle.
I was thinking the same thing as trisbert...it does have a fairy-tale look about it, like maybe Cinderella is living in there...wonderful photo and beautiful castle...this goes into my favs...everyone should have at least one castle, lol...nicely presented and top marks.:Pat.
Lovely capture! I actually did a school report on Neuschwanstein when I was in grade school. I think I remember reading that Walt Disney modeled his fairy tale castles after this one. Anyway, beautiful shot of a beautiful place!
Yes, this castle is in Bavaria, which is part of Germany, but I believe it was its own country or territory at the time the castle was built in the 1800's. Feel free to correct me on the history if I'm wrong. I believe it was one of 4 castles built by Ludwig II. Neushwanstein was not completely finished on the inside, and Ludwig only lived in it for roughly 120 days before mysteriously drowning. But its still a magnificant structure, and was actually designed by an opera set designer.
This photo was taken from a bridge over a gorge and waterfall next to the castle.
I was at this castle earlier this summer, and have many pictures of it. This is a wonderful picture, though. I'm guessing this picture is taken from that bridge somewhere near it? I have several pictures much like this, but mine are not this good! I like it. Good job :)
Wow! that's one beautiful castle... I think I saw a pic of this one somewhere but it looked pink... ever since that day I too have fallen in love with it. the faded edges on this are great, somehow I think, storybook picture.
Wonderful, and I hope you post more pics like this.
You are never so alone as when you are ill on stage. The most nightmarish feeling in the world is suddenly to feel like throwing up in front of four thousand people.--Judy Garland
I think I just stepped into a fairytale. This castle has had pictures taken of it by many, but this crystal clear prefectly angled shot is my favorite photo of it ever! And I'm jealous you've actually seen it...
Interestingly, for me, my grandfather was born not far from here, in 1899. Luckily, the castle has survived the ravages of so many wars, large and small, otherwise we'd never get to see modern photos of it, like this.
