This was taken from a boat on a bear watching trip near Prince George in British Columbia as we were rounding the tip of a bit of land that jutted out into the water.
Love the colors on the rocks where the water line is/has been. It's a very calming scene with nice depth and color. Very well done and welcome to Caedes. Hope you enjoy being in the community and will post for for us to enjoy. Anita
What a breathtaking scene! The composition is perfect, the colors are rich and vibrant and you've created a feeling of depth. In fact, I feel like I'm there (I wish I was!) I see this is your first posting, well, it's magnificant! I'm so looking forward to seeing more of your work.

What a wonderful photo!! I can almost hear the gentle soft sounds of this beautiful landscape. Definately makes me want to visit this country. Welcome to Caedes! It's nice to have another artist aboard who adds to the wonderful talent we get to enjoy on a daily basis. More please!!
Very well executed view. Great composition and details. The angle of this is fantastic. All the trees in the foreground are beautifully shaped and the rocks are well exposed with the yellow moss. Those background trees are gorgeous in the mist. What a wonderful boat ride that must have been. I hope you got to see those bears. Super work and I'm sure there will be more :*>

Hello Darrell,
Just spotted your post on the Front Page when I checked in this morning. It caught my eye immediately. Love the subdued colors in this. Very wistful and mystic atmosphere. Makes the viewer want to know what is around the next tip. Your off to a great start and welcome to Cades. I invite you to check out my gallery if you have time. Thks for posting this. Pat
I made it a point not to read the other comments on your post. If this sounds the same it is because it is true. This is a fantastic picture. It has trees rocks, mountains and the sea. Your composition was excelent. Either you planned well to set up the shot or you got extremly lucky. Either way you took one of the best scenery pictures I have seen in a long time. Thanks for sharing, Math King :o)
One of my all-time favorites here on Caedes, no matter how soft it is (in 2006) as compared to today's cameras. I'm just amazed I didn't leave a comment on it back then, having joined Caedes 7 months before it was posted. The color, composition, the low angle of the camera, and the action implied by the water eddying around the rocky point is outstanding. It also takes me back to childhood when my brothers and I would join friends of my dad and their sons and take trips to the lake region of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. We would rent these old, heavy wooden boats, about 20 feet in length, and travel from lake to connected lake, passing tiny islands fully covered in pines and low growth, except for the solid rock shores. One of my best memories of childhood and here I see it all over again. Terrific. I better fav it so I don't lose track of it again.
