I like th econtrast you brought out with the dark colors against the white background. The drooping horse (mule?) and the drooping men really tell the story in this image. Well done.

I like the crucifix looming over the carriage, the attitude of the men seems to suggest that they dread their next religious encounter.

I agree with you Robert. It doesn't appear that they are there for any religious inspiration and that itt just so happened to be the shadiest spot protecting them from the pigeons who seem to have their own sunny bounderies set. Thought provoking image.
