The Rideau Canal steps down to join the Ottawa River in the background. What's unusual is that all the locks are full; the result of a mid-season labour dispute last year.

Interesting view. Looks busy despite the lockdown. I'm led right into the boat's wake and open waters and busy scenery beyond the bridge. I find the castle type building on the right a little odd for the setting. Do you know what it is? You've also got some nice reflections despite the darker foreground.

Building on right is the Chateau Laurier, a major hotel. Its stonework construction is typical of many Ottawa buildings immediately around this area, which is quite near Parliament Hill (seat of Canadian government)
