This determined young man has been trying to get his arm around the young lady since the morning of May 1, 1994, when The Secret Bench of Knowledge was installed in front of the National Library and Archives building in Ottawa, Canada. This sculpture by Canadian artist Lea Vivot has many messages inscribed on it, written by school children, about the importance and pleasure of reading.

Oh that is adorable, love the description. I like the way this shot is composed, and I like the glowy blur around the subject. Good job!

This is classy! I don't know what you did to achieve that background, but I sure wish you would tell me. It is simply a very dramatic shot! Great work, Dave. Really great!

What a lovely capture Dave. I love the composition with the subtle color coming up from the bottom yet that stark background. It's just lovely and thanks for sharing it with us. Anita

Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)

What a lovely shot. The *young love* is sweetly shown. Nice angle for this picture. A feeling of gentleness surrounds this pair. I guess the apple is the seed of knowledge (or something like that). Blurred background works well to set off this couple. There's a slight color tone to the statues and bench which I find pleasing. Great image Dave!

The hues and essence of your capture, Dave, make this truly remarkable, perhaps even more so than seeing it in person. I enjoyed knowing the story behind this beautiful sculpture; makes it all the more special. - Patty
