I have balanced the horizon, clarified the image as you can see in the mountains. Lake Tahoe 3 Original by Jiwq. Of course the credit goes to Jiqw, all I did was re touch it a bit. I did have to crop to balance the image, so I had to add the black border.

Is it just me? or does the original look a little better? this one doesn't look as smooth as the other, the other looks a bit clearer. You say you clarified the image?

Yup, I looked at 'em both, & this one is better. The gradual changes in color in the water are really nice & the little sailboat is a nice focal point. Good job.

Ah Lake Tahoe , land of Birch , Aspen and many types of pine. I love the area, the water is always so clear and pristeen. Nice pick it shows the wonderful clear water so well.

Art is the perception of the creator. Meaning is the perception of the viewer. acceptance is the perception of society.

Nice angle .. most people would not get this angle .. and I like this version better

But .. if possible, consider using a polarizer on your camera lens .. this filter (in case you're not familiar with them) acts like window blinds allowing reflected, bouncing light to enter your lens from one angle only .. greatly reducing the sheen on the rocks, for example, but will also deepen your sky and possibly remove the sheen from the water as well .. these are usually rotatable and you can "dial in" the amount of effect you want .. removing the "sheen" allows the color to to come through ..

Point it at Martin Sheen and he dissappears .. no, really

I think you have generally improved this shot; straightening the horizon was obviously a necessity, and I do like that you have removed the blue tint to the photo, but I think you also need to reduce the brightness in places as Keifer mentioned. Obviously you couldn't have used a polariser to do this since you didn't take the photo, but you could possibly acheive the same effect in photoshop or whatever editing app. you are using. Overall a good job and nice improvment.

Hey there David. Just wanted to thank you for the further clarification of your comment on Biven's Arm :). I'm glad you still like it a year later! It's wild that there's only been one other comment on it in the last year. Unfortunately, once an image hits the permanent galleries you don't generally get much more feedback on it.

As for this image, it is certainly very beautiful. You did a nice job leveling the horizon (I love the way it's curved, there's such a great range of visibility in the original shot). I also think you did a nice job of fixing the color and brightness, but it seems to have happened at a cost to the clarity of the photo. The original photo looks more crisp, and this one looks a little bit more pixelated as a result of the processing. That's only at a close stare though, if you stand back a foot or two this one looks fantastic. Overall it's a good repair effort because most people don't bury their face in their monitor anyway :).

You did a good job of balancing the horizon, but seemingly made some sacrifices in the process. All in all, I think the original is better.

It seems to me that what wears us down the most in life aren't the chances we take, but the chances we dont take, the dreams we put aside, the adventures we push away, the questions that are never answered

Very nice rework, I liked how you brought out the blues in the lake and the sail boat looks a bit closer then in the other shot. Nice job.

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink. . . . drink in the moments that take your breath away. . . . .

I love that beautiful crystal clear water. I don't care for the dull colored mts in the background. If it ain't one thing it's somethin else. Everybody is pickin on ya. The rocks need some color in them as well. It's still a beautiful capture in anyone's book. Good job. Pat

Picture this view, covered in snow, with a blizzard blowing hard, and that is exactly what my wedding looked like!!! My husband and I got married out on these rocks.
I love this area of the lake, and miss living there and seeing this beauty daily!
I like both shots (this and the original)...there are some positive aspects to your "clean-up", and I like the addition of the boarder, but it does seem a bit brighter than the original...

The picture is leveled, I'll give you that. That aspect aside, the picture looks like it's from a disposable camera after your editing... everything blurred, squished and miscolored.
