While in Europe and Britain I enjoyed how polite the people were .... And one very good example was the gentleman in this picture. During my marathon "tourist" weekend (I was there on business) I visited the Tower of London this gentleman was so enjoyable to listen to. He had a knack of making the people smile even when he was talking about how many people "lost" their heads on the Tower Green .... Enjoy and thanks for your thoughts and comments ....

I can tell by looking at this guy, that he is a storyteller, and enjoys it. I bet he has some good jokes too.

Must be kin to Owd Timer with his story telling skills Jelly. I thought maybe he worked in the ER judging from his outfit. Wonderful people post. They always are so interesting.

Hey Jellybean, this is a wonderful action capture of the Beefeater giving the tourist history about the tower and chapel. Brings back great memories for me.

Yeah, I once had a hooded guide in a local abbey describe the cemetery as the place "all the brothers were dying to get into." I think these guides thrive on that type of humor, especially in a place like the Tower of London. I find it interesting to see "fruit salad" on his left breast, indicating that this is not just a costume for him - it's obviously an official uniform of the British military.
