The grade steepens slightly as we make a switchback on Bright Angel Trail, moving away from Coconina, almost a mile from the high house.

This arm's length view reveals the colorful mix of Coconina Limestone, Redwall, and desert vegetation. The sky begins to lighten as we look through longer and longer sections of atmosphere.

This is another element in my digital conversion project. Scanned from a photograph taken July 8, 1980, with my trusty old semi-retired Canon FTB.

Don, in the first place I like to say thanks for your extensive reply on my comment on your previous post. In the second place think I can repeat this comment. To me it's amazing again that an 1980 analog image can be brought back in such a good quality. Wonderful, the more it's a beautiful image!
