The Fountains Abbey Green is adjacent to the Cellarium, or storehouse, of Fountains Abbey and at the south wall of the narthex arcade and western portion of the nave. It is approximately the size of an American football field.

Fabulous pic Don! The sky is a bit washed out but I suppose for the wall details to be revealed you had no choice but to increase the exposure! Well done! Again, the image takes me back in the long dusty path of history, to the medieval times and beyond, bringing to life the events that may have taken place there in the years now long gone by! Thanks for sharing this!

Another good shot of an impressive Roman structure. Very good clarity and colours.

A great job on this one also, They just don't build things
like they use to.

Great perspective, Don. I am impressed by how many ruins there are at this site. Did the Romans build this? Again, the wonderful green, green grass.

Nice shot Don. My mind tends to think of the battles fought at such walls.

THis really is a great perspective - it shows the magnificence of the building and the contrast of the green against it is spectacular.

Great angle here. It gives you a sence of the size of the building. Very nice!
