...there is a street so narrow that two neighbors may touch hands across the street (The Whisperer told me so.) Thanks, Ann, for telling me of The Shambles in the city of York.
When I saw the title in my list I wondered if it would be the York Shambles :) A wonderful city and you have captured the essence of it here.
How's this for coincidence -I am enjoying a cup of Earl Grey right now!
I think the Earl Grey sign and the Italian restaurant sign are an interesting contrast. I wonder if that is a bit of the Minster peeping over the rooftops?
Well, hard to believe! I am also enjoying a cup of Earl Grey as I write this! Nice capture, Don! Reaching over to the neighbour across can be a bit risky, though!
Great shot you have here Don. Glad you were able to see this place for yourself as it is very quaint. Also there is nothing better than sipping Earl Grey out of a china cup!! (Typically English I'd say old bean!!! lol)

Good shot Don
Bristol, & many other large, & small cities had streets like these b4 the Luftwaffe arrived. The later VIs, & VIIs didn't help either.
As a historical fact it seems only the wealthy parts of post war Britian were restored !! that's class politics for you. :o(
Like it.
