I call her Maize, she was born early this spring and is still curious enough to come within thirty yards of me. I've tried inching a little closer here so what I'm getting is a furrious foot stamp and a 'bark'
Kilie, this is a perfectly timed shot to say the least. I've seen them freeze in position before but I've never received a full frontal look and stomp from one. Let alone a bark. I've never heard a peep out of them. Well done.
I see these creatures on the side of the road (and sometimes in the road) all the time, but I never got the chance to study them this closely. Thanks for giving me the opportunity. Great shot!

Hi Kilie, thank you for the nice comments on Piering and Showing Off. I'm glad you enjoyed them!
This is a wonderful picture, very clear and perfectly composed. You really had the attention of that little guy, and the simple background beyond the focal range really features your subject well. Great capture and thanks for sharing!
Hello Kilie, you have done so well with this shot!
I like this so much, because this photo shows exactly what we alway hope to see when we spot a deer in the distance. We all hope that we can come close, but we never get the change because they run of. And now you come with this shot...just great!
And the focus is perfect, foreground and background blurred, ears up and full attention.
Thanks for posting.
What a darling capture Kilie! I don't know how I missed this, but I am sure glad that I found it! I love the hoof in the air as if she is stomping her hoof at you. (which she probably is!). Is she a pet or wild one who just comes around humans? I love deer, I think are are very graceful and intriguing to watch. You have great lighting here as well as good composition. I like that Maize is the center of attention..that is what she deserves :~)
Thanks for stopping by & visiting ~cardinal country~. Birds are my love too. I feed them and they reward me with hours of entertainment. The Cardinals are most plentiful & they look so beautiful in the snow. Thankfully for all of you, I don't post all that I shot :)
Glad you stopped by for coffee & a visit. Come on in anytime, the door is open! Happy New Year too!
Hello Kilie....This is a lovely photo of a beautiful animal....deer is a creature of habit, and for us photographers who learn and understand these habits, the photographic opportunities are abound....Excellent....All the best....Mick.
