Still Flowing - Part II

Having received some excellent advice about avoiding too much sky in my photo, which is reportedly a tempting error to make, I submit the above revision to my previous photo named "Still Flowing." I must confess the advice to cut out a quadrant of sky does appear to me to produce a positive effect. Although the above composition is cut in halves by the major components of sky and water, I dare think it still works. As for my tendency to include too much sky, I can only assume it springs from an inborn desire to be as free as a bird.

Yes it does but i was mainly focusing on the reflections and the beautiful sweep round in the river and stillness to see the sky.But it does make it look even better.

I thought about saying something about the sky, but I figured that Doug would take care of that. The "rule" that I always heard was that the amount of sky should be limited unless it adds drama to the shot. In this case the sky was clear blue and added no drama. This version is much better and still looks cold, stark and frigid. Very nice edit, Edwin. Doug has helped me immensely with his critiques and emailed edits. That man knows his stuff.

I'm not afraid of dying. I just don't want to be there when it happens.
