I was waiting for my birdies to land on the branch that was closer, then he landed on the branch in the back, I thought nothing of this photo until I looked at tonight. I like it, hope you will also.
Gregg this is really superb and I have added it to my favs. You have captured him in all his fine glory! I really like cardinals anyway and this is a most awesome post. <> Sandi
As well you should Gregg, this is fantastic..........one of your best for clarity (although there's so many) you can count every feather. Great job bud.
Always remember - Follow the Yellow Brick Road, it will lead you to the Emerald City and OZ A very nice place to repose. Trust me on this one, I live there ............The Lion...................... MY GALLERY - The Magical Mystery Tour
Gregg, I think this is a good photo because there's really no color in the photo to compete with him, and then of course he's just bursting with color.

True story Gregg ... I was notified of this post. Came here and immediately went to the VB without commenting ... hoping I would have this to vote on. It's not often I give a 10 to an image and this is one that I strongly ... VERY STRONGLY ... felt was deserving of a 10. It never came up in the VB. Rather disappointing. Just know my friend ... when it comes to bird images I really don't think it gets any better than this one. Absolute perfection my friend.
Well, you must have been focused on that branch as well and what a glorious outcome! He is one of the most beautiful creatures I have ever seen! No kidding! I love this shot, Gregg! Stunning. I guess we surprise even ourselves sometimes, eh?
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

You thought nothing of this?? Wow, we need to see more of your seconds! This cardinal is gorgeous. The clarity of this image along with the coloring is super. Diane
I've seen pictures of Cardinals before ... but .. I've also seen pictures of men walking on the moon ... and, like those, these are FAKE too
hahahaha ...
Disclaimer: ... I refuse to acknowledge which parts of my statement are true .. or .. whether any parts of it are true ... but, come on .. a RED BIRD?? ... photoshopped !!
I agree with Muggsy. I don't think you can get the details any sharper than this unless the bird poses for you. Great shot Gregg. This deserves more than what is shown under C-Index right now.
