I have not seen Donna post for awhile, so I dedicate this photo to her, hoping she will return soon. It is hard to capture the White Breasted Nuthatch. They grab the seed and go. But this one sat for a bit to look at the Human in the window with the big black eye.

Nuthatchs are interesting to watch, as they walk up and down vertical tree trunks -- good grippers! Your photo is a dandy. Thanks for sharing it.

Nice photo Gregg. I too wonder about djholmes. For some reason this made me think of dbcooper. I guess it's the Seaching for. Hope she responds to you and all is well.

Donna comes and Donna goes, but she's never too far away :) But I wish she were back here more often too!

I read a comment by you, Gregg, in which you stated that you were tired of taking pics of birds on dead branches....and I just wanted you to know that it's awfully hard to tell a dead branch from a live one, so don't think the rest of us are tired of viewing your captures of these backyard favorites.

Another fine post.

This is a truly magnificent shot! Your little feathered friends are all stars because of your photos. :) The detail you have captured, as well as the clarity, in this shot is truly noteworthy and quite exceptional.

This is just delightful, gregg, and truly you seldom see one of them standing so upright. They may not like standing so still for a photo, but can be quite tame. I once had one who would take a seed from my open hand if I would hold quite still for him.

Never mind...just the way my brain works!..at times!!

A most detailed capture of this bird...I believe we have these too, but never seen one personally!!..I agree, Donna has been gone a while..so hurry back honey....Look at what you are missing!!
