For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, His eternal power and Godhead;... Rom 1:20
We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"
Greg...this is a scene I have seen often in the water at Nature Preserve. The turtles come out to sun themselves and the Heron hangs on fallen tree limbs hunting for prey...it is quite interesting to watch them fish...and get a shot of them actually catching fish!! This is a very good capture...gerry
"The more we come in contact with animals, and observe their behaviour, the more we love them, for we see how great is their care for their young." - philosopher Immanuel Kant
They look like two old friends that are very comfortable with one another, that the silence can be appreciated and not be awkward. :oD
Nice shot. Great angular line with the stump ... could not have scripted this one better adding in the two main players and their placement in the overall composition.
And but of course, thank you for sharing this one with us. Got a smile out of this viewer. :o)
"Think what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world, had cookies and milk about three o'clock every afternoon and then lay down on our blankets for a nap." - Robert Fulghum
Great photo Gregg. You have the knack for being in the right place at the right time and with a camera to boot. Buy me a lottery ticket please. Very good composition and the clarity is perfect.
Funny, the first thing I thought of was the scene in "Jaws" where the shark is tipping up the boat to consume those on board :-P I wonder what that says about how my brain works. I guess in this case the bird can just fly away... from the terrifying turtle...
Great Job Gregg.
Faved!
