Another good example of why we need a photo/journalism category, Eggz. Such a good photo of a breed of men that are to be admired.

Great capture Gregg. Three on the line, Captain Baker standing at their side, the smoke in front of them (thankfully) and the line charged with water as it is being poured on the fire. It doesn't get much better than this in describing the "ideal" fire to fight. I certainly hope that everyone came home safe and that no one was injured in the blaze.
Spot on composition. Great clarity and color. Can be difficult in smoky conditions!
Thanks for sharing this with me.

I would like permission to pass this image on to my son who is a firefighter. Will await your response.

Another candidate for a photojournalism gallery, and close to my heart (a former firefighter). I like the concept of name tags hanging off the backs of the helmets. I remember it being hard sometimes, figuring out who was in front of you in a house fire, when all the chemicals in the smoke were as thick as soup in front of your mask. Thanks for submitting it Gregg. I just gave it a 10 in the booth. And saved. And faved.

Great shot! Why isn't the Fire Officer (Chris Baker) wearing his SCBA? He's well within the IDLH...LOL. We use the same accountability tag system as well.
