I can't believe you caught this in action Eggz. What a wild ride the ant is in for. I am speechless as to the greatness of this one.

Marvelous capture Gregg. You do such a great job. Thanks for sharing. (To help keep ants off the feeder - take a plastic shot glass or any tiny plastic glass, make a small hole in the bottom middle, rub vaseline all over the inside and then turn the plastic glass upside down and put the wire -or whatever the feeder hangs from- thru the plastic glass. It make a dome above the feeder and the vaseline keeps the ants from getting to the feeder. It has worked for me for the last three years. You can usually get a free plastic shot glass from any bar - many liquor companies use them as advertising.) Although the ants are a pain on the feeder - if they result in a photo op like this one, maybe they are worth it.

Great shot. I sure wouldn't count this one as a fail.

I have two feeders hanging on jack chain and I coat the top connection with an antiseptic ointment called Bag Balm. It's a petroleum & lanolin based concoction meant to apply to a cows chapped udder. It does amazing things for chapped skin, cows or humans too. But it does smell funky and I thought that would keep the ants away. So far it has and the rain doesn't wash it away either. It comes in a little square green metal can and it's fantastic for lots of skin problems. If you can stand the odor and greasiness that is. Farmer's swear by it.
