Stunning shot of this toadstool - in English it's called fly agaric - and a beautiful depiction of autumn richness.

I'm usually not a big fan of fungi shots but the colour and clarity of this one really caught my eye. If such things can be called adorable then this one definitely is. Well done.

This is one of those classic looking toad stools with the fairies or cupies sitting near by. I've seen them that way. What a lovely find. Lovely colors and placement in the image.

Are these really the ones that can get you stoned????. I've heard of them but have never seen them. Excellent clarity in your photo Ewa. It does look like where the woodland fairies would live.

Well .. I've .. uh .. seen them .. and they don't have any red on them in .. uh ... dried form.

in the Led Zeppelin movie "the song remains the same" Robert Plant finds one of these at the base of a tree and nibbles on it .... but I think popular culture just uses these because they are so picturesque

the same reason I will be using THIS one .. it is the quintessential picturesqueness of desktopical imagery

This is beautiful! It may be the last thing you eat, but I bet you'd see a lot of crazy things before your life ended! =) (not to be out of line or anything.) That is what me and my best friend said, *as we laughed*, when we came across some mushrooms that were very similar to this one at Land Beween the lakes in Western Kentucky. Great photo,dear.

this is a fly agaric, and while yes, you can get high on these, it is NOT recommended. They contain a few toxic alkaloids as well as chemicals which make you feel high. It is a much better idea to eat some Psilocybe Cubensis. They are completely non-toxic, and will provide a good 4-6 hours of pulsating colours, lucid dreaming, visual and audible hallucinations, flashbacks, etc. and they will rip your mind wide open so be careful who your with.
please just dont eat these. I have seen people get very sick.

Lovely fruiting of fly agaric. I've been very into mushrooms lately.

I have always found it amusing and scary at the same time that this toadstool is often pictured in children's stories as it is poisonous.

I have also wondered if this is the mushroom that witches used in their brew so they could fly to moon on their brooms.
