Just something interesting I found in Newport, Rhode Island. I looks as if they built the stairs directly on the rocks. They give access to the jetty that extends into the ocean. They are quite old, but still operational - I went up and down them several times, and they work just fine. I just though it was an interesting shot, it looks almost as if the stairs are a part of the rock. By the way - if you are ever near Newport, i would suggest stopping. It is a beautiful and very interesting town, and the photographic opportunities are seemingly endless. Of course, that's true of anyplace if you have imagination, the right perspective, and a sense of adventure. :) Hope you enjoy. Eli

You used the word Interesting a few times to describe this image, so I'll use it once more.
INTERESTING !

Very nicely done, Eli. Is that the stairway to Heaven? It looks like something you might see in Rome, or Jerusalem or Greece. Good work.

I'd rather be here, than where I'm at

Looks like it must be covered at high tide once in a while as it seems worn away in places. I live a holiday away from Rhode Island and hope to get down that way this summer.

Great texture shot and you're right that beauty is all around all of us all of the time.

It is this type of shot I find very interesting of how all the shadows play on the different textures. Well spotted and very good capture!

What an interesting stairway. I also love the textures and shadowing you captured. You should do some research and see how they came to be.

I wonder if they are Templar in origin, as is speculated of the Newport Tower. That would date them well before Columbus, an idea your average historian will not entertain.
