I snapped this picture with my Olympus C-4040 with no filters or special lenses. We were in Stanley Park, Vancouver BC on the West side during a beautiful late September Summer day in 2002. Believe it or not this is a very busy shipping lane, and I waited for this canoe to make it into the open. That is a buoy bell just below the sun.

excellent desktop, people don't believe me, but some of my best days fishing looked just like this, no one around and not catching any fishing and life is grand...peace!

it has been said: "every cloud has a silver lining".. but yours have golden ones! :) just look at the sky, it looks amazing.. especially the clouds.. nice darkness contrasts and fabulous lightning! i just love sunsets... :)

beautiful reflections too.. and those ripples look calming as well.. i bet it's certainly a great feeling fishing there.. but i would be lonely.. maybe it would be perfect with your loved one or a friend..
btw, i had been planning to complain about those dirty spots on the sky, but then i realized it wasn't your fault at all, my monitor was dirty :D heheh :)

thank you for sharing this beautiful ikage with us! have a nice day :)

Great idea having the caoe come into view before shooting. Wish I was canoeing with them. Luv the sunset.
