For many years I had tried to get a cardinal into my feeders. You would think where I live I would have tons of them. We lacked one thing they desperatly needed.... cover my house is surrounded by fields. The only tree's we had near the house was two willows and one pine tree. So about twenty years ago hubby and I planted a bunch of white pine near the house. Two years ago I got my first cardinal who we named adam. I am sure you can guess his wife's name is lol This year we got another male cardinal coming in so now we are up to two male. This new fellow we named spot since he is the only spot of color we see in the winter landscape
