Very nice, although I like this more for the chair and it's background. The cardinal is nice, but it's role (to me) is more of a very nice accent, than your main subject.

If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn't need to lug around a camera. ~Lewis Hine The Earth without art is just 'eh'.
I like the burst of color the bird gives the picture. I agree with third_eye that the bird is more of accent (due to its size in my opinion)
