The Coongoola was built in Bundaberg Queensland. In 1949 she completed her maiden voyage to South Africa. Made from Burmese teak with Bermuda ketch rigging, she has travelled most of the world and was the mother ship to the Sydney Hobart yacht race in the 1950s. Her home base is now Port Vila Vanuatu, where I joined her for a delightful day cruise.

Strange thing, as it looks brand new... Of course a ship of any kind is female and they never grow old !!!!!
I also envy you, dear Frank.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
