Sunday morning in November in Prague - the Charles Bridge is one of the main tourist spots. I had to snap this picture with the old couple at the front - they made the photo I think.
I agree with you that you have found a rather photogenic couple. And I am not being facetious either. Love the character present in our two lovebirds that you have captured here.
Now ... as for the image as a whole ...
I like these kinds of photos. Technically, at least in my very humble opinion, you might want to review some of the rules of photography. Just some food for thought in terms of composing an image. Not a slight at all against your work.
Placing your subject matter in the middle is ... apparently ... a no no. Sometimes rules are meant to be broken. I just think, in my very humble opinion with such a colourful pair you might have been able to incorporate them and the setting somewhat better.
As is, you certainly caught a slice of life in your lens here. Make no mistake about that. One does get the sense of the hustle and bustle ... and then ... out of the crowd emerges this very illustrious couple. Nice. Has an editorial feel to it, this image does. Thanks for showing us another part of this world and some of its' inhabitants. :)
thanks for your comments - as I am a novice, I am always pleased to have some positive feedback and advice. I certainly agree that it would have been better to have the couple more to one side. It was an instinct shot - just grabbed it quickly before the couple passed by. I think it is one of the most difficult things to do - to catch the moment and get it exactly as you would like it. I am learning all the time though. :)
I would prefer you focused more on the couple which really deserves full attention rather than showing us the bridge and the crowds behind. And there is something strange about the light...
Perhaps you should think about the cropping to get the gist out of the photograph. Don't give up... we are waiting for your next uploads.
I liked the stark contrast between the old couple and the baby in the left of the pic. It seems also to make your main characters, the couple and the baby, off center, which seems to please the crowd of late.
thanks again for the encouraging comments. The light is a bit strange because I was taking some photos using a white light setting on my camera which seems to give an old world effect - just experimenting :) and I agree I could probably crop it to make more of the vision of the couple - which I think I will have a go at now. thx
i like this photo very much and actually i think the lighting helps make it what it is. i'm sure you could do some kind of editing and make it look like all other pictures, but to me it's very effective the way it is. jen
I remember this amazing picture, what i can't remember is why i didn't comment on it ........ anyway it is one of your best and warm capture for me cause it was on the start when i met your photos
