I took several shots of this beautiful snowy owl in Calgary Zoo - his head kept turning right around - and I probably have a shot of his profile from every angle. LOL! I was really pleased that I eventually managed to capture him looking straight at me.

Yea, what Marzena said. This is an outstanding shot. The only thing that would have been better(?) would to have had him in full flight. But posing like this is really good. Thanks for sharing it.

Patti, you have done terrific job here. Nice capture of a beautiful raptor...I like the fact that you have bird slightly off center of composition. I am interested in shooting birds and especially would love to get shots of owls, in the wild...gerry..

Just look at those hypnotic eyes! He looks so regal sitting there - how lucky you were that he would pose like this.

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have entertained angels unawares

Live every day as if it's your last... and take "pictures" of it ;)

Great capture. I think it's quite special because most photos I've seen over the years will have this magnificient bird perched in a "snow scene". Your picture with the grassy background as contrast makes the bird stand out in all his glory. You were "pleased" with this image. Had I taken this photo ... "ecstatic" might have been my choice of words :)

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.
