...this is just part of Bramhall Hall, one of many old mansions in Cheshire, UK. It is wonderful to walk around these old buildings because you can almost smell the past - quite a strange sensation really. It's oldest parts date from the 14th century, though the estate itself dates back to around 1070 AD when William the Conqueror divided the North West region; giving land to his loyal followers, the manor of "Bramale" as it was known then was given to Hamo de Masci ("Massey" - he became the first baron of Dunham Massey). The stocks are still there - see to the left of the picture! - anyone want to volunteer to try them out! :)

Good shot of a neat old building Patti! I like the story & history behind it as well. I was hoping you would have posed yourself in the stocks for this however! ;-) lol Good work! Dan

Very well, done.
I'm sure someone would let you out. The only question I could see is When?
Wonderful shot, and thanks for the back ground on it. It does help when you have these old buildings/sites
(However, I think I was there when it was being built or so my wife says.) ;o}

Lovely shot here, Patti. Like the contrast between the white and dark of the mansion. Your clarity is excellent on this one too. Well done, my friend
