...we've just veered away from the wood and are down at Salford Quays :) I was there on Sunday afternoon taking photographs of the bridges and architecture. The whole area has undergone a major transformation over the past few years. The Millennium Bridge is a wonderful bit of engineering and spans the Manchester Ship Canal, which links Manchester with the North Sea. sooooo best way to see it is on a bicycle - follow that cyclist!! :)

My eye just darted around this image in excitement to take in all the various angles and shapes. I like the towers and the reflection in the pinkish glass. Neat shot!

the building straight in front is a new office building called Quay West! lol butttttttt behind me is the Lowry Theatre (a very modern constuction which also houses the Lowry Gallery) and Lowry Shopping Mal. Lowry is of course the famous artist from Salford. This is a very popular residential area with lots of apartments and walkways down the canal. There are several bridges,of modern construction. To the right of our view which I will post later is the Imperial War Museum.

This is really a neat looking bridge Patti! Your right, obviously great engineering was involved in the building of it! But, can I take a horse across it instead of a bike? lol Good capture of this!! ~Dan

We have a bridge similar to this in Charleston that I see alot of people riding bikes on too Patti. Must be in the air LOL. It just amazes me everytime I look at it, the work that went into it from everyone involved.Nice photo of this amazing architecture.
