......"I think that I shall never see, a poem lovely as a tree, a tree whose hungry mouth is prest, against the Earth's sweet flowing breast" - lines from Joyce Kilmer's famous poem "Trees". I wonder how old these trees are that line a walkway through Tatton Park - I think they are elm trees, definitely not oak, but beautiful and their branches stretch right out creating a canopy over your head. :)

Well, not sure what type they are Patti, but they sure are neat looking, & like you said they must be quite old! Almost appear to be multiple trees that have grown into one. Looks like a great place to spread a blanket out under them, have a picnic & enjoy the day! A pint or two to go with it would be good too. ;-) Good capture of these Patti! ~Dan

.. I didn't put any filter colour on the big tree Kostas - it is actually that colour and because it rains so much here a lot of the trees have that mossy sort of coloured bark and I expect it has something to do with the fact that they do not see that much sunshine with being sheltered by the branches. I did however add a little bit of undergrowth towards the back of the photo as the white light shining through was too strong. :)

Patti:

Whatever you did, it's still a great shot. Makes me wonder how scary it would be with just a little bit of fog thrown in for good measure? It's been added to my desktop/favorites.

You told me awhile back that byou were going to get a new camera. Did you? If not, better keep the old one. I love this. What character and atmosphere. the fact that the tree's growth comes down so close to earth renders the view thru here absolutely exquisit and makes for a stunning light show.

It looks so peaceful that walking might disturb it. Think I'll just sit and enjoy the scenery. Well done, Patti.

Ah yet another peaceful and serene place to beat the heat. The depth and colors are magnificant and you've made it a welcome sight with your capture. Very nicely done Patti. Anita
