....and I wonder who is behind this door! This is one of the doorways into Bramhall Hall and the oldest parts of this building date back to the 14th century....soooo could be a ghostie I expect!
I dunno. I think nobody will answer. Much to my relief, nobody did when my then teenaged, contrary daughter walked right up to a side door of Kensington Palace and knocked three times...!
This is a wonderful door and well captured. I, too, like the play of shadows. Also, the fairytale aura.
Recently I've learned exactly what those big, black pipes are, so seeing this one isn't pleasant for me. Maybe you could get that out and then it would be a masterpiece.
Ah, photos_587 said it all with his Charlie Rich impersonation :) No one knows what goes on behind closed doors...song of the 70's :) You've done a great job capturing this beautiful door. I like the bush to the side, make the composition great. Very nice job Patti. Anita
Well, it must not be the Adams Family..they were behind the other door. ;-) The Munsters maybe?? LOL "Herman, you in there..?..Lilly?..Grandpa?" Go ahead in Pat..hope they have Spot tied up! LOL Nice shot of these solid looking doors..I think everyone has at least one mystery door in their gallery! Mine was door #2 (my gallery) ..I never found out what was behind it either! ~Dan
psst..Pat..have your chaufer go in! ;-)
The Bible tells us to love our neighbors, and also to love our enemies; probably because generally they are the same people.

I love this image. The door alone is magnificent. The frame and brick add texture. I don't think they build them like this anymore. Than you for sharing it.
I love this door with it's rustic rich wood and the brick wall also. I saved it to my files. It has such a pleasant atmosphere and the title you gave it really fits.

Great composition, Patti! The combination of textures and color give it a lot of appeal. A closed door, always sparks my imagination. Thanks for sharing!
Whew......what an awesome set of doors.....the wood looks so nicely agerd and is rich and extragant-- and oh the history -- if doors could talk.....
the rest of the building is exquisite too I will wager..I would LOVE to venture inside of that building-- and even live in it too for that amtter ..lol
behind that door is a sweet fat grandpa and if you manage to get in he will offer you tea and tell you all about the history of that door and the mansion in the other picture you've post and how these 2 places are connected somehow .Anyway i love your photo well done
