....and a photograph looking down onto 'Underbank' in Stockport Cheshire. The town is very old and my grandfather lived there as a child. If you look towards the back you will see Robinson's Brewery - now you know why there are so many pubs around here! The town has a lot of character and some of the buildings date back a few centuries.

It's so interesting to see such historic places, Patti! It's so quaint and pretty. Not hard to picture your grandfather playing in the street there. You did a superior job on this! Now, which way to the pub? :))

I love this capture. I'm not crazy over postings of buildings. I'm a landscape person but there is something about this capture that grabs my attention and maintains it. Maybe it's the perfect color, or perhaps the perfect exposure or perhaps the perfect composition. But, it is a keeper. I don't understand those narrow streets. Do you mean to tell me they drive cars down thru there? What if two of them meet. There isn't even any room to pull over to allow the other to pass by. And what if one wants to stop and shop. Where do you park? Fascinating capture for a "Yank" to study.

this road I think is now a pedestrian only zone except for access and a one-way system for cars that need access ....but at one time it would have been two way, the pavements would have been narrower. There are a lot of very narrow roads around the country though and I travel along one very narrow road every day and you have to creep around the corner as there is only room for one car - let's hope there are no mad drivers coming in the other direction when I am on that road!!! :)

I like this a lot. I couldn't help but notice (because of the clarity) that it looks like some roofs may have a leak or two? Or if not, they are ready to? Oh, well, since there's a pub nearby, who cares? Thanks for sharing it.
