....and we are now heading towards Monsal Dale along the banks of the River Wye from Cressbrook for those still on the trek (we'll pick up the dawdlers on the way back) lol! and at this point in the river it is usually quite narrow but the water is high and is spilling over the edges. When I am back at Monsal Dale you will be able to see the difference in the view from my last visit there on Christmas Eve. (photograph River Wye in Derbyshire, UK)

Good Lord ... is that a headstone ? Dawdlers take note ... this is what happens to those who collapse along the way. Best pick-up the pace. Come to think of it ... It is a rather lovely view to have for all eternity. It's a grand tour Patti.

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.

I was thinking same as muggsy above, that headstone must have been a dawdler who didnt make it! Let's hope the water doesnt get much wider than it has..you might see some "dearly departed" souls using coffins for canoes! LOL Very pretty scenery Patti! A great place for hiking to be sure! *glances at headstone and decides to pick up the pace!*

I dont want to be a daisy dawdler but the countryside is so lovely and I have my thermos with me (coffee of course :) of course) so I will catch up later.
Such lovely colours - and it it a gravestone - or one of those 'how many miles to ' thingys ? It would be a nice place to be laid to rest.

This is really a nice place and would also be a nice lace to rest, as said above. I also thought about a gravestone, but I do not really think, this would be allowed that close to the water ...
Another great shot, where you show us, how beautiful the country side of your country is.

Very pretty Patti, and I passed this way a long time ago, so it's not me under that marker..lol..I like the shadow that the tree is casting over this. You're doing a super job of escorting us around the countryside.

What a special spot and capture, Patti. This looks like the perfect place to just sit and reflect and the tombstone makes it even more so -
