.....a romantic old mansion in Derbyshire UK - you can read some of the history in the link. This is home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and sits in a 1000 acre park which is open to the public all year round! The grounds are amazing and beautiful with the River Derwent running through the centre. ....more recently it is famous for being the film location for Pride & Prejudice

Just imagine the work and money involved back then ! just paying the staff would set you back a little i guess let alone, taking care of the grounds, and the parties given...

Wonderfull shot of a byegone age Patti...

I looked at this and said, "I know that place!" even though I've never been to England. So, thanks for pointing out it's use in the movie - because that is where I've seen it! Beautiful photo; I would like to be one of the people relaxing on a blanket by the river right now!

When I first saw this, I thought "it looks like a scene from a movie". So they used it on the small screen instead. BTW, when I tried to view a clip on the second link, it said it was for UK users only. Hmmph! A real beautiful image, so nicely composed. I hope it is not meant just for UK viewers only! (LOL)

What a quaint little cottage, are the Duke & Duchess friends of yours ?? :) Very nice job Patti but I'm not sure I'd like those people partying in my yard all the time. LOL :)

Lovely capture sweetheart..I've been to Chatsworth many times!....this is where we have our Stick-competitions..at the country fair held here every year!....It was a fair bit of travelling for me, and now it is all in the past, and the photography took over!

Thanks very much for this...a lot of memories for me at this place!

Picture perfect Patti. The landscape and beauty of the architecture are very pleasing to the eye and you've captured it with clarity and great colors. Very nicely done. Thanks.

After a bit of an absence, partly vacation but mostly tax season...busy for bookkeeping businesses... I'm glad to be back out here with at least 'some' regularity. I've missed everyone and am glad to have a little more time again.

Um. Really nice shot Patti except for Mr Hairylegs in the foreground and his more demure wife and errant newspaper. I think I would have been inclined to erase them as they distract attention from the wonderful stately old house. Strangely, the other people in the picture all seem to fit in very well.

Due to time pressures I can't always comment on images - but I appreciate them all the same.
