.....and one of the most spectacular rooms in Haddon Hall 110 feet long and 17 feet wide .... you can imagine Jane Eyre or Rochester pacing up and down the long gallery. Some of the costumes used in the filming of the BBC adaptaton can be seen here. No-one was cloned out of this image - I was in the room alone - what an amazing feeling of history! This room was built in the Elizabethan era. .......more to follow :)

Their chairs look a bit uncomfortable back then, I'd be afraid to sit on one. LOL Very historic indeed Patti.

I can imagine this as you described. It is very ornate and your image is so picture book in quality. A really nice presentation and a well taken photo. So much light in this long gallery.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

It's incredibly beautiful and ornate. Those carvings, the ceiling, the windows. I like seeing the costumes on the maniquins. The clarity and lighting are fantastic. I'm looking forward to the continuation of this romantic series. :)

Oh, I made the mistake of going to the link first, and I saw the words "Dame Judy Dench" and I was hooked. She is one of my all-time favorite actresses..opps..actors. This is an amazing place and that you can stay here or near here is beyond belief....plays right up to my historical reading lately..very glad you posted such wonderful pic and a marvelous link as well. :)
