.......Robert Charles John Manners, Lord Haddon, son of the 8th Duke of Rutland ......... who died at the young age of 9 in 1894. This Italian marble effigy lies within the Chapel which is the oldest building at Haddon Hall in Derbyshire, dating back to the mid 12th century! :O ...unbelievable that it is still standing! I will post some pictures of the inside of the Chapel at a later date - it is decorated with all kinds of fresco wall paintings which have now faded to almost invisible, but incredibly have stood the test of time.

A truly wonderful work of art and a terrific photo. I can't imagine having a gift that would turn a marble block into this effigy. Thank you, so much, for sharing.

The details on this sculpture are amazing. It's so lifelike. This boy had such a patrician face. Your capture does justice to this fine work of art Patti. :)

Nicely rendered Patti, with excellent light and shadows. Not sure about the frame, but this is very much a matter of individual taste.

This is turning into a real interesting series Patti, it is great to get to see the insights here, insted of only the building outside. It is usualy not allowed to shoot images in those old places without a permit, so well done and congrats on this series.
