....you guessed!!! lol! ....and as promised a mate for Jerry's Turkey Vulture! This one is a hooded vulture. The photograph was taken at the Gauntlet Birds of Prey Centre. The sky was overcast and very white, so I added the sky as a new background, so now the vulture is flying around the Derbyshire Hills! NOT! ;) lol! I did take several photos of the vulture in flight and one where he appears to be flying right at me - needless to say that one is quite blurred!!! lol!

Whoa, now this is UGLY! I just came from seeing Jerry's vulture, and just had to see what you had in store :) I don't know which is the ugliest but they'd make a good couple. They say there's someone for everyone. Very good presentation Patti.
The added sky is the one beauty here - lol! I enjoy your sense of humor :)

What's for dinner...apparently scraps!! Vulture's really aren't that ugly if you look more closely...they just got a bit unlucky with the beak area!!! Nice shot...great detail as usual!!

I am quite fond of these special creatures. We have quite a few along with the Red Tail Hawks that ride the thermals at the north side of our property. Summers late afternoons a glass of Merlot, and them soaring without moving their wings for what seems like forever. Fasinating..
I did notice that this one is tethered.. Is it still able to fly free?

ahhhh well he might look as though he is tied down but he isn't! When he is in his pen and in the open he has these leather straps tethered, when he is caged he probably has them removed. ...and when he is flying in the display he flies with them still attached. ....as long as they are fed well they just keep returning so we were told!
