........and SHE goes by the name of 'Tarn Hows' - tarn meaning lake in the mountain! It may look like she is in a valley, but this road is pretty high and the lake is nestled in the hills high above the surrounding villages in the Coniston area of Cumbria's Lake District. The 'tarns' as she is often called by the locals was once owned by Beatrix Potter - was that Peter Rabbit I just saw run past? ;)

This is the type of scenery that would take my breath away the first and every time I saw it. I just love these pretty, unexpected scenes as you go around a bend in the road. Nicely compose, Patti. I hope you didn't endanger yourself on that road :(

now this is different. it's great how the road leads you right to the lake. thank you so much for sharing this. I don't who else will agree, but I think the composition of this image is some of the best I've seen. :-)
